The Yemeni Corner

The Yemeni corner is located at the southwestern corner of the Ka’bah, aligned with the corner where the Black Stone is situated. It is called the “Yemeni corner” because it faces towards Yemen. During every round of Tawaf, it is recommended for the pilgrims to touch this corner without kissing it, and there is a commonly recited supplication between it and the Black Stone: “Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

The unique feature of the Yemeni corner is that it rests on the original foundations laid by Prophet Ibrahim (may Allah’s peace be upon him). Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported a narration indicating its virtues, he narrated that the Prophet (may Allah’s salah and salam be upon him) said: “Touching the Black Stone and the Yemeni corner removes sins” authentically collected by Ahmad. Just imagine how many sins are washed away every time the one that is performing Tawaf touches this blessed corner!

In addition, another narration in regards to the virtue the Yemeni corner is what ‘Abdullah ibnu ‘Amr ibnu al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with them both) said; “the Yemeni corner will come on the Day of Judgment, greater than abu-‘Qubais (a large mountain situated in Makkah), with two tongues and two lips.” This narration is sound, collected by Ahmad.

Despite the fact that the Yemeni corner was subject to numerous disastrous events, Allah has decreed for it that it will continue to stand strong. The most recent instance occurred in the year 592 AH, yet, Allah has made it a sign of Iman and resilience, and it will continue to serve as a testament to the lengthy history of caring and concern for it throughout time.
The Yemeni corner remains, to this day, a place of light and blessings from the heart of the  Noble Ka’bah, its surrounding carries the supplications of the Muslims and the tears of those repenting. The place remains a place where Allah is mentioned and where the mercy and forgiveness of Allah is dispersed.
To this day, the Yemeni corner remains; a corner full of light and blessings from the heart of the  Noble Ka’bah. It’s surrounded by the prayers of the Muslims and the tears of those seeking forgiveness. A place where people remember Allah, and where His Blessed mercy and forgiveness are abundantly distributed.
