Language and Translation Services

The language and translation services at the Grand Mosque provide a comprehensive system to spread the message of Islam in multiple languages. These services include digital broadcasting of the sermons from the Grand Mosque and their immediate translation into ten languages via the “Manarat al-Haramain” platform and FM radio. High-quality archiving of sermons and audio programs is also available.

Additionally, directional and cultural guidance services are provided in more than 50 languages to direct visitors and introduce them to the landmarks and services of the Grand Mosque. These services include the distribution of wireless headsets and digital guide cards containing links to electronic services, such as live translation of sermons and religious lessons.

Moreover, specialised translation services involve translating books, pamphlets, guide signs, and electronic screens within the Grand Mosque, ensuring a comprehensive experience that enhances visitors’ understanding of the message of Islam and the mosque services.

Luggage Storage Service in the Grand Mosque

To facilitate the worship of pilgrims and lighten their burden, Masjid al-Haram offers a luggage storage service to ensure they can perform their rituals without the hassle of carrying personal belongings.

Service Locations:

  • Next to Makkah Library in the eastern courtyard.
  • Opposite Gate 64, at the entrance of the western courtyard (Al-Shubaikah).

 Guidelines for Guests:

  • Keep the storage receipt to ensure easy retrieval of belongings.
  • Do not store prohibited or valuable items.
  • Luggage in plastic bags is not accepted.
  • Do not leave bags for more than 4 hours.
  • The bag’s weight should not exceed 7 kilograms.

Fatwa Service

The Grand Mosque, a destination for Muslims from around the world, offers verdict services to ensure that worshipers perform their rituals correctly.

These services are spread across 10 locations inside the Grand Mosque and 7 cabins in its courtyards, aimed at educating pilgrims on the rulings of the rituals. Seventy-five scholars are dedicated to this service, along with offices for answering phone inquiries via the toll-free numbers: 8001222400 and 8001222100.

Pilgrims can benefit from the guidance of scholars and sheikhs on various religious matters. The guiding robot provides fatwa services and instructions on how to perform rituals in a modern electronic manner, available in several women’s prayer areas in eleven 11 global languages, facilitating worship for female visitors.

Transportation Service

 the General Authority for the Care & Management of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosques strives to facilitate the movement of pilgrims by providing free and electric carts to assist them in performing their rituals with ease. The presidency has provided 5,000 regular carts and supervises over 6,000 wheelchair pushers, granting them work permits after meeting the necessary requirements and monitoring service quality around the clock.

Designated locations for electric and manual carts, as well as cart pushers, include the southern, western, and eastern courtyards, along with golf carts in specified areas such as the internal Ajyad Bridge and Al-Shubaikah (near the Shubaikah Bridge). These services aim to provide comfort to visitors, especially the elderly and disabled, facilitating Tawaf and Sa’i during Hajj and Umrah seasons. Digital screens and guide signs throughout the Grand Mosque help direct pilgrims to cart locations, reducing congestion and easing movement between the sacred areas.

 Quran Translation Service

To facilitate worship and understanding of the Quran for all pilgrims, the Grand Mosque offers translated copies of the Quran in various global languages. This service enables visitors to read and reflect on the Quran’s meanings in their own languages while in the sacred mosque, enhancing their spiritual experience and providing a deep understanding of the Quran’s teachings. The available copies are endowed to the Grand Mosque and cannot be taken out of the mosque.

Emergency Centres Service

To ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims, emergency centres in the Grand Mosque provide comprehensive medical services to handle emergencies quickly and efficiently.

Locations of Emergency Centres:

  • Emergency Centre No. 1: Located on the first floor of the King Fahd Expansion, next to Gate 88.
  • Emergency Centre No. 3: Located in the Saudi portico, next to the Ismail Gate, near the funeral prayer area.
  • Emergency Centre No. 4: Located in the Saudi portico, on the first floor, next to Ajyad Bridge.

These centres provide immediate care for emergencies inside the Grand Mosque and its courtyards, offering medical care to pilgrims around the clock.
