Multazam

The Multazam is the area between the Black Stone and the door of the  Noble Ka’bah, and it is called the Multazam because people cling to it and they supplicate at this spot.
Authentic reports from the companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) mention that the Multazam is the area between the Black Stone and the Ka’bah’s door. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Multazam is between the corner and the door.”
Therefore, it is recommended for pilgrims especially those performing Tawaf, if possible, is to stand at the Multazam to supplicate and invoke. The way they should stand there is that they place their cheek, spreads their hands, and place their face and chest against this part of the Ka’bah and supplicate to Allah and invoke him.
In support of this, abu-Dawood collected and others, that ‘Amr ibnu Shu’ayb reported, who said: “I performed Tawaf with ‘Abdullah, and when we came to the back of the Ka’bah, I asked him, ‘Do you seek refuge?’ He said, ‘I seek refuge in Allah from the Fire.’ Then he continued until he touched the Black Stone, stood between the corner and the door, placed his chest, face, arms, and hands like this, spread his arms out, and said: ‘This is what I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s salah and salam be upon him) doing”.
Some scholars have authenticated the aforementioned narration due to the multiple supporting chains of narration, and it has also been reported by several companions, such as the likes of Ibn Abbas, indicating its legality and it being a Sunnah.
